Pema Chhiring Lama
Pema Chhiring Lama, Account Officer, is the longest-serving of our Nepal Country Office staff, joining the Foundation in 2000. He is a son of the Himalaya, hailing from Humla, on Nepal’s border with Tibet, on the pilgrim path to the sacred Mount Kailash. In addition to providing support to the NCO team in Kathmandu, Pema’s favorite part of his job is the annual field visit to Upper Mustang, where he helps out with logistics (including horse wrangling), translation, and report writing. Pema has a ‘family connection’ with the Foundation, having met the girl that would become his wife on a trek with AHF Chairman, President, and VP in 1997.
