Nepal Flood Relief
On Wednesday, August 26th, devastating flooding struck the Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts in north-central Nepal. Thousands of lives have been lost, and many more are still missing. Entire settlements were submerged, bridges destroyed, and roads were washed away, leaving many communities difficult to reach.
Since the flood, our team has been in close contact with partners and local leaders on the ground to understand what communities need and how we can best support them. We have been there for families who were evacuated from their homes, helping them find shelter and receive essential support. As access to Rasuwa has improved, our team has also been able to reach more remote areas and distribute supplies to people in affected communities who are now living in temporary shelters and holding centers.
But experience tells us that this is just the beginning, and full recovery will take time. Structures aren't the only things that will have to be rebuilt. People need to rebuild their lives, too. That's the part that outlasts the news cycle, and that's the part we commit to.
