The healing power of water
Every morning, Ama Taomo, like many women and children in the Himalaya, carries her recycled juice and cooking oil containers to the nearest filter tap (AHF set up three in 2018) and collects safe drinking water for her family. Ama lives in a remote village in Arunachal Pradesh in northern India with her husband and their two sons and daughter. She settled here in 1975, and in those 43 years, the community has never had a water filter system. Until now.
“Earlier we either needs to drink water directly from running tap which is badly contaminated or have to spend huge amount to buy mineral water which is not possible to buy daily. But after installing water purification system in camp wise it not only saves our both time and money but more importantly it benefited our health. The drinking water from water purification also tastes much better. We also started having almost no any stomach pain after consuming clean and hygiene water. We all the residents are grateful to the donor,” said Ama.
Clean water for drinking, cooking, and bathing means health and hygiene improve and that is life-changing!
